So I haven’t ‘tumbl-ed’ in a while and thought I’d write about something that has become and is becoming to be a very big part of my life…
Leaving Hong Kong to live in a different country for the first time by myself is going to be a big step for me. Seeing as I’ve lived in Hong Kong since I was 9months old its going to be weird moving ‘back’ to the UK for Uni. I will miss the sunshine, the heat, the humidity, my friends, my family, my dogs… It’ll just make it all that more sweet when I come back for holidays.
As my dad always says University is a 1year course dragged out over 3years, I have a month off at christmas then 5weeks off at easter then finish early June..just to be clear I’m Not complaining :p
There are so many people from Hong Kong who are at university in Cardiff and many of my friends who will be either en-route to my nan’s house or who aren’t that far away. Leaving home isn’t my biggest fear - loosing touch with my friends that I’ve grown up with is…
This summer has been a great one, the first one I’ve actually had a chance to relax in for the past couple of years. Yr 11 summer - preparation for the IB year 12 summer - EE, Theatre IA, English World Lit etc… I’m just glad its all over.
I shall miss Hong Kong and am sad that I am leaving but I’m so so excited for this new chapter in my life to start and knowing that I will have some people I know going to UWIC and to Cardiff Uni I’m hoping it will be a good start.
For those of you reading this who are going to Uni in the UK I do urge you to try to keep in touch with your mates, if they mean something to you then the effort in seeing them every once-in-a-while shouldn’t be a burden.
Goodluck to everyone awaiting their A-Level results and to those of you who have already ventured out to their new destinations…and also, goodluck to those who have all of this to look forward to in the years to come.
